Ms Emma O'Malley

Following the completion of various genetics-related degrees and the highly competitive NHS Scientist Training Programme, Emma is now a Specialist Cardiac Genetic Counsellor currently working both in the NHS and in private practice.

Having trained alongside the very experienced ICC team in Leeds 2019 - 2024, Emma is currently based at the prestigious Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, London working alongside some of the UK's leading Cardiologists and Geneticists in the field of ICC.

Specialist areas with the field of ICC include Sudden Cardiac Death, Cardiomyopathy, Inherited Arrhythmia, Whole Genome Sequencing, and Non-Syndromic Paediatric Cardiac Conditions. Emma is also experienced in service development, improving patient pathways, and embedding mainstream genetic testing into non-genetic services.

Outside of working hours. Emma is a keen supporter of Cardiomyopathy UK having presented at local support groups and the National Annual Patient Conference.
