Dr Kathryn Griffin
Consultant Pathologist (Leeds)

Yorkshire born-and-bred, Kathryn trained in Cambridge and then came back "Up North" for an ACF in Vascular Surgery in Leeds. During her PhD Kathryn "saw the light" and changed specialty, completing integrated academic training in Pathology in 2023. Now a consultant at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust she divides her time between Coronial autopsies, being a Medical Examiner, undertaking a portfolio of research at the University and her role as academic lead for the Specialist Foundation Programme in West Yorkshire.
Kathryn is a member of the UK Cardiovascular Pathology Network, which receives complex case referrals from across the country, and sits on the RCPath Death Investigation Committee and the ACP Autopsy Committee. She recently authored the College Tissue Pathway guideline for Cardiovascular Pathology and is passionate about raising standards in Autopsy and the integration of pathology with ICC services nationally.
